Father Daughter Backpacking is a way to get your girls away from the TV and the computer. Hopefully this blog can provide information on trip-planning, preparing meals, some basics on gear (it doesn’t have to be expensive) and ideas on trips with smaller kids. Good luck, keep me posted, and have fun together! Strengthen that special bond between fathers and daughters.

This will be a work in progress, so bear with me. I’m sure my kids will have lots of free advice! Some of it I might even listen to!

Looks good. Gorp, hot cereal on the AT, lots of chocolate. The girls enjoy it every year!

Dave,
The site looks great, now I wish I had gone on the 50-milers with you.

Dave,
Father and Daughter Alliance (FADA) is an organization working to help strengthen father and daughter relationships. It would be great if you could speak at one of our upcoming events. If your interested, please email us.
Thanks so much!

The Trip for Sept. 26 and 27, 2009 is getting close! We will be hiking along the Appalachian Trail in the middle of Connecticut along the Housatonic river. Here is the link to “Great Falls” which we will hike right bye! http://www.ctwaterfalls.com/falls/main.php?Great1. The kids will love this hike; the beginning is flatter than our hike up to Bear Mountain and Race Falls! But there are still tough ascents to challenge them!
Here is another link:http://www.cs.utk.edu/~dunigan/at/m.php?wpt=Limestone.
this later link is about the lean-to we will be staying at. If the girls like we can stay in the lean-to for a change of venue!
Looking forward to another great trip!
